Camp Barnabas Mission Trip 2026
Katie and Ryan are going on a mission trip to Camp Barnabas this summer!
Camp Barnabas is an amazing Christian camp for kids and adults with special needs (Down syndrome, blindness, chronic diseases, etc.).
Instead of facing “no” constantly because of their disabilities, at Camp Barnabas they experience the word “YES!” and Christ’s powerful love for them.
It’s the campers’ favorite week of the year experiencing fun outdoor activities adapted to them and growing in their faith through worship, devotionals and prayer.
I (Katie) have served at Camp in a variety of ways many times over the years (counselor, staffer, cabin mom, etc.) and last year I got to introduce our boys to my favorite place in the world! My son Ryan really caught the bug and wants to go back this year!
Ryan and I will return Term 1, Legends Week, May 30-June 5 during the week for adult campers with Down syndrome, developmental disabilities or autism. We will be helping out in the kitchen and with various other projects they give us.
What a blessing it will be to share God’s love with these wonderful campers!
Ryan will be returning to Camp to serve again as a “Barnstormer”. This means he’ll be helping on a crew of 13-14 year olds cleaning bathrooms, washing dishes, serving camper tables at mealtimes, bussing dishes, etc. It’s A LOT of work and he can’t wait to get back to it!
I (Katie) will be serving in the role of Cabin mom like I did last year. Cabin moms help by assisting camp counselors and campers, coming alongside and pouring into the cabin staff, occasionally helping prep meals, doing laundry, and being an extra set of helping hands in the cabin.

Ryan (14) and I (Katie) will travel to Purdy, Missouri where Camp Barnabas is located. Our church group is going later in the summer, so we are on our own to raise support.
We would deeply appreciate your prayer support and are raising funds to cover mission trip costs.
ANY funds we raise above and beyond what we need will be donated to Camp to help scholarship campers.
